You will complete 15 weeks of practical training in the workplace during your three years with us.
In the first year, regardless of the profile chosen, all students complete two weeks either in a retail pet store, a cat home, a 4H club or a dog day care centre.
In year two, you will complete five weeks of practical training at a work site within the profile you have chosen.
In year three, you will complete a total of eight weeks of practical training in the workplace. Five of these will be within the profile you have chosen, while three weeks will be more elective in nature.
Djurgymnasiet has a large contact network with many partners. If you are very goal-oriented, perhaps you will aim at doing a practical placement abroad in year three. Several of our students, through applying for scholarships and grants, working and saving money, have been able to finance a stay abroad. Through the years we have established contacts primarily with zoos and animal parks in other countries, such as England, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, the US, Australia, New Zealand and more.
